After well over a year of deliberation, I have finally descended into the depths of Blogger. I've been considering it for some time, due in part to simply be able to leave comments on such prestigious sites as silbs says, Mine's, and Wife of a Cookie Monster. So what's taken so long? For one, I couldn't decide a name or title. I don't like my online screennames or email address- I only use them (when I do) because I've had them for so long. Heck, I knew when I got them they sucked- I just couldn't think of anything else. It's the same reason I don't have any tattoos- I know as soon as I get one, soon after I'd be wondering what I was thinking; and that you're really stuck with.
Another reason is "What shall I write about?" Computers, technology (and all the sub-categories that come with those), the automotive industry, retail, foodservice, the plight of the coal worker and their surrounding communities, philosophical ponderings, the meaning of life? While I could comment on some or all of these, I've decided on a more general format, and just see how the words flow.
Before I wrap up this short introduction, though, I'm sure many many people are curious about the title. 0000:7c00 is the memory address in an IBM PC where the BIOS loads the boot sector into memory and the bootloader takes control of the boot process-this is where the fun begins.
